DSS Prosecutes Ex-Attorney General Malami and Son for Alleged Terrorism Financing

The Department of State Services (DSS) has taken legal action against former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and his son in a Federal High Court in Abuja over alleged involvement in terrorism financing. The DSS accused Malami of abusing his former office by failing to act on sensitive cases involving suspected sponsors of terror.

The charges include possession of firearms and ammunition without valid authorization. The prosecution argued that the inaction of Malami aided terrorism financing, posing a serious threat to national security.

The defense argued that the accusations were politically motivated. The court is considering bail applications while the defense maintains cooperation with the judicial process.

The case has been adjourned to a later date for further proceedings.
