BREAKING: EFCC arrests Atiku’s Ally, Ex-Governor Aminu Tambuwal over N189 Billion Fraud

Former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, a close ally of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, was arrested by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday. Tambuwal was interrogated at the EFCC's corporate headquarters in Abuja over allegations of fraudulent cash withdrawals amounting to N189 billion.

The agency is investigating transactions that may have violated the Money Laundering Prevention and Prohibition Act of 2022. Tambuwal served as the Governor of Sokoto State from 2015 to 2023.

The arrest comes as a significant development in the ongoing fight against corruption in Nigeria, with high-profile figures like Tambuwal facing scrutiny for financial misconduct. Atiku Abubakar has not commented on the situation involving his ally.
