Malami Condemns EFCC's Attempt to Seize Abuja Residence

Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of the Federation, has publicly condemned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for attempting to seize his residence located at No. 2 Koronakh Close, Off Amazon Street, Maitama, Abuja. This action comes despite a pending court challenge regarding an interim forfeiture order granted on January 6, 2026.

Malami asserts that the EFCC's move to enforce this order is an extrajudicial and illegitimate attempt to possess his property, as the court has not authorized immediate possession or eviction. He has filed an application with the Federal High Court to set aside the forfeiture order, with a hearing scheduled for April 20, 2026.

Malami criticized the EFCC for allegedly attempting to evict his family without due process and highlighted that the commission's actions raise suspicions of political motives. He called for media attention to ensure that due process is upheld in this matter.
