Tuggar Loses APC Ticket for 2027 Bauchi Governorship

Former Foreign Affairs Minister Tuggar has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the 2027 Bauchi governorship election. The results were announced on Saturday morning by John Abang, the retired chairman of the APC governorship primary committee in Bauchi State.

Former Governor Abubakar emerged victorious with 57,517 votes, defeating six other aspirants, including Tuggar, who secured 26,001 votes. Other contenders included Bala Maijama, who recorded 13,648 votes, Wunti with 13,638 votes, Kabir Baba Aji with 8,157 votes, Baba Abubakar Suleiman with 7,688 votes, and Yakubu Abdullahi with 7,181 votes.

This loss marks a significant setback for Tuggar, who previously faced defeat in the 2019 gubernatorial election as the APC candidate against the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
