Tuggar Loses APC Governorship Primaries to Abubakar

In the recent APC governorship primaries held on Saturday, former Minister Tuggar lost to Abubakar, who secured the party's ticket for the 2027 elections. Abubakar received a total of 57,517 votes, while Tuggar came in second with 26,001 votes.

Other candidates included Nura Manu Soro with 13,638 votes, Bala Wunti with 13,648 votes, and Kabir Ma Aji, who trailed with 8,157 votes. Following the completion of the exercise, the APC governorship primary committee formally declared Abubakar as the party's flagbearer for the upcoming governorship race.

Tuggar had previously stepped down from his ministerial position on March 30 to pursue this political opportunity.
