Yusuf Tuggar Announces 2027 Bauchi Governorship Bid

Yusuf Tuggar, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, has declared his intention to run for the governorship of Bauchi State in the 2027 general elections. His announcement was made in Bauchi, where he expressed a desire to improve the living conditions of residents and unlock the state's vast resources, which he believes are currently underutilized.

Tuggar, who previously served as a lawmaker representing the Gamawa Federal Constituency and ran for office in 2007 on the platform of the Nigeria People's Party and later sought a ticket in 2011 with the Congress for Progressive Change, emphasized the need for prioritizing agriculture and rural development. He outlined his agenda, which includes regular salary payments for workers, support for farmers, and improvements in rural infrastructure.

Tuggar also highlighted the importance of youth empowerment, educational reform, and enhancing healthcare services, particularly maternal and child health. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as a minister, which he believes has equipped him with insights to better serve the people of Bauchi State.
