FCT Police Kill Bandits, Rescue Five Abducted Victims

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Ahm Moham Sanusi, executed an operation that resulted in the deaths of at least two members of a bandit gang. This operation was conducted in response to the kidnapping of five residents, including a pastor, in Byazhin, Bwari Area Council, last week.

Local vigilante member Shuaibu Yerima was killed during the attack. The operation, which took place around 9:00 PM on Tuesday, involved the Anti-Kidnap Unit of the Nigeria Police Force and an Intelligence Response Team (IRT) from the Kubwa Area Command, working alongside local hunters.

The operation led to the arrest of two suspects, identified as Icheh Mohammadu and Abubakar Usman, who attempted to escape to nearby hills. Two AK-47 rifles and magazines were recovered during the operation.

The five rescued victims were taken to a hospital for medical attention and will be reunited with their families. Ongoing search operations aim to track down fleeing suspects and dismantle the criminal network.
