FCT Police Rescue Four Kidnap Victims in Abuja

On July 10, 2026, at approximately 10:40 PM, the FCT Police Command received a distress call regarding a kidnapping incident in the Yellow House area of Mpape, Abuja. Four residents were abducted during the attack.

Following the report, Commissioner of Police AHM Sanusi deployed personnel from the anti-kidnap unit and a mobile force squadron to the area. During the incident, two residents were shot, with one, identified as Mr.

Babangida, confirmed dead, while the other sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and is receiving treatment. The police maintained a relentless pursuit of the kidnappers throughout the night until they located them around Jikoko Hill heading towards Ushafa Forest.

A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in the police overpowering the suspects, who abandoned the hostages and fled deeper into the forest. The four abducted victims were rescued unharmed and later reunited with their families.

The police assured the public of their commitment to apprehending the suspects and urged vigilance in reporting suspicious activities.
