Police Raid Bandits' Camp in FCT, Four Arrested

On June 15, 2026, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command conducted a raid on a bandits' camp located in border communities between FCT and Kaduna/Niger State, resulting in the arrest of four suspects: Yahaya Abdullahi, Muham Yunusa, Hauwa Shafiu, and Shamsudeen Mustapha. The operation, led by Commissioner of Police AHM Sanusi, followed preliminary investigations indicating the suspects' involvement in a kidnapping and banditry network.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being part of a criminal organization that provided logistical support, including food and medical assistance, to armed bandits. The police destroyed makeshift structures used for storage during the operation.

Hauwa Shafiu, who was pregnant at the time of her arrest, was reported to have been serving as a logistical supplier and cook for the group. She is currently receiving adequate medical care along with her newborn.

The police are intensifying efforts to dismantle the broader criminal structure operating in the region.
