FG Charges BOSYA President Kaigama with Terrorism

On Wednesday, the Federal Government arraigned Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama, the President of the Borno State Youths Association (BOSYA), on charges of terrorism. Kaigama was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) and appeared before Justice Salim Ibrahim at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

During a recent interview on Channels Television, Kaigama admitted to having discussions with Boko Haram terrorists concerning ransom payments for kidnapped victims. Security sources indicated that the DSS possesses substantial evidence of Kaigama's involvement in extorting families of victims.

Following the arraignment, Justice Ibrahim adjourned the case to September 25, 2026, for the commencement of the trial and ordered that Kaigama remain in DSS custody until then.
