Former Bauchi Deputy Governor Arch Audu Sule Katagum Dies

Arch Audu Sule Katagum, the former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, has passed away at the age of 69. His death occurred in the early hours of Saturday, eliciting reactions from various political circles within the state.

Katagum served as the Deputy Governor during the administration of former Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar from 2018 to 2019. He was also recognized with the traditional title of Wazirin Katagum.

A statement confirming his death was issued by Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, a digital creative media aide to the former governor. The statement expressed profound sadness and included prayers for the deceased's soul, asking for forgiveness and strength for the family and friends to bear the loss.

Katagum was noted for his dedication to public service and his influential role within the Katagum emirate, further strengthening his family's legacy in public service, as his late father, Alhaji Sule Katagum, was the first chairman of Nigeria's Federal Public Service Commission.
