Former Bauchi Deputy Governor Arch Audu Sule Katagum Dies at 69

Arch Audu Sule Katagum, who served as Bauchi State's deputy governor from 2018 to 2019, has died at age 69.
On Saturday, Arch Audu Sule Katagum, who previously served as Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, passed away at age 69. Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, media aide to former Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, made the announcement and characterized the death as an immense tragedy for both the state and the nation.
The traditional title of Wazirin Katagum was held by Katagum, who worked across multiple positions within Bauchi's government structure. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor under Abubakar, he served the state governor's office in the role of Chief of Staff.
Between 2018 and 2019, he occupied the deputy governor position before stepping down. Abubakar's statement emphasized that throughout his life, Katagum remained committed to serving his community and advancing Bauchi State.
Islamic supplications were offered in the announcement, seeking divine pardon for any failings and granting him entrance to eternal bliss in Jannah. Across Bauchi State's political and traditional institutions, news of Katagum's death generated significant response.
