15 Killed in Armed Attacks Across Plateau State

On the night of Sunday, July 20, a series of armed attacks in Plateau State resulted in the deaths of at least 15 individuals. The deadliest incident occurred in Dungus community, Jos South Local Government Area, where nine passengers were killed when suspected terrorists opened fire on their vehicle.

Among the deceased was a member of Operation Rainbow, a local security outfit. Rwang Tengwong, spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders, confirmed the attack.

In Mangu Local Government Area, two people were killed in Vodni, Pushit District, and four others sustained gunshot wounds, necessitating hospital treatment. Additionally, two fatalities were reported in Riyom Local Government Area, where attackers targeted the Tahoos community in a separate but simultaneous operation.

The Plateau State Police Command spokesman, Alabo Alfred, and Chinonso Oteh, media officer of Operation Enduring Peace, had not responded to inquiries regarding the attacks at the time of the report.
