Gunmen Kill 13 in Plateau State Attacks on Sunday Night

On Sunday night, no fewer than 13 people were killed in separate attacks by suspected gunmen across the Jos South, Mangu, and Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau State. The most significant incident occurred in Dungus community, Jos South, where nine passengers traveling to Jos were shot at approximately 9:40 PM.

Rwang Tengwong, spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders, confirmed the attack, noting that among the deceased was a member of Operation Rainbow. He expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and reported that some passengers sustained gunshot injuries and were taken to hospitals, where some later died.

Musa Dauda, a resident of the community, corroborated the account, stating that several injured passengers succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment. The attacks highlight ongoing security challenges in the region.
