House of Reps Member Resigns from PDP After Winning Ticket in Captivity

Sadiq Abdullahi, a House of Representatives member representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, has resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) due to alleged internal conflicts. Abdullahi, who won the PDP ticket while in captivity after being abducted by bandits in March 2022, cited the need for wide consultations with key stakeholders in his resignation letter.

This development follows other notable resignations from the PDP, including that of former Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Agboola Ayoola. The political landscape in Nigeria is witnessing significant shifts as more politicians defect from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a major realignment in the state's political dynamics.
