Uche Nnaji Arraigned for Corruption Charges in Abuja

Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Science and Technology, was arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja. He faces six counts, including allegations of certificate forgery and misappropriation of public funds during his tenure as minister.

Justice Joyc Abdulmalik presided over the case, where the prosecution presented evidence suggesting that Nnaji submitted fraudulent academic credentials and made false declarations related to documents during his public service career. The ICPC's charges stem from an investigation that began following allegations surrounding certificates submitted by Nnaji during his ministerial nomination screening.

Nnaji denied all allegations and maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to the charges. The prosecution is expected to present evidence to support the charges as the trial progresses, which is anticipated to attract public attention due to Nnaji's previous governmental role.
