APC's Biodun Oyebanji Wins Ekiti Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election held on June 20, 2026. The declaration was made by INEC's Chief Returning Officer, Professor Adenik Oladiji, at 3 AM on Sunday morning.

Oyebanji secured 319,224 votes, defeating Dr. Wole Oluyede of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), who received 40,543 votes.

Dare Bejid of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) garnered 12,872 votes. Oyebanji's victory was confirmed across 16 local government areas in the state.

The overall election results indicated a total of 988,252 registered voters, with 384,940 accredited voters, 375,777 valid votes, and 6,332 rejected votes, totaling 382,109 votes cast.
