APC Celebrates Supreme Court Ruling for Oyebanji's Candidacy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has commended the Supreme Court's judgment that affirmed Governor Biodun Oyebanji as the legitimate APC candidate for the June 20 governorship election. The party described the ruling as a victory for internal democracy, the rule of law, and the collective will of APC members in Ekiti State.

This legal challenge was initiated by APC governorship aspirant Abimbola Olawunmi, who contested the outcome of the party's primary that selected Oyebanji. The High Court and the Court of Appeal both upheld Oyebanji's candidacy before the Supreme Court unanimously dismissed Olawunmi's appeal.

The APC, through State Publicity Secretary Segun Dipe, stated that the judgment resolved all legal issues surrounding Oyebanji's candidacy and reinforced the legitimacy of the mandate given to him by the people of Ekiti. The party congratulated Oyebanji for his humility and focus on governance, emphasizing his commitment to development and inclusivity.
