Oyebanji Leads Early in Ekiti Governorship Election Results

In the early results of the Ekiti State governorship election, Biodun Oyebanji, the incumbent governor representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), has taken a commanding lead. At polling unit 003 in Ikogosi, Ekiti West Local Government, Oyebanji secured 326 votes, while his main rival, Dare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), only garnered 2 votes.

The early results indicate a significant margin for the APC, with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) trailing behind. The election features 1,059,360 registered voters across 2,445 polling units.

Reports of financial inducement surfaced, with allegations of APC agents offering voters 10,000 naira to vote for Oyebanji, while ADC representatives countered with offers of 2,000 naira. Despite the presence of anti-corruption officials, no arrests were made, and voting continued uninterrupted amid claims of widespread vote manipulation.
