Kano Government Appoints Sanusi for Eid-el-Fitr Durbar

The Kano State Government has officially declared Emir Sanusi as the leader of this year's Eid-el-Fitr Durbar. This decision was announced following credible intelligence suggesting potential disruptions to peace during the Sallah period.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs. The government emphasized its commitment to preserving Kano's cultural heritage while prioritizing security.

The Durbar procession will commence at Kofar Mata Eid ground, proceeding through designated routes including Gidan Shettima and concluding at Kofar Fatalwa within the Emir's Palace. Notably, the traditional horseback display will be modified, and certain processions such as Hawan Daush, Hawan Fanisau, and Hawan Dorayi will be suspended for public safety.

Security agencies have been instructed to heighten surveillance and enforce compliance during the celebrations, urging residents to maintain peace and cooperate with security personnel to avoid the spread of unverified information.
