Kwankwaso Denies Leaving ADC Amid Political Crisis

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State and a presidential candidate, has denied rumors about leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He clarified his position in a statement released late Saturday night, amidst growing speculation about potential political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso acknowledged ongoing consultations with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and the People Redemption Party (PRP) but emphasized that no final decision has been made regarding his political future. He noted that the ADC is currently facing a legal leadership crisis following a recent Supreme Court judgment that questioned the legitimacy of the party's recent convention.

This situation has made it challenging for the ADC, similar to the difficulties that led to the exit of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). Kwankwaso also explained his absence from a recent ADC stakeholders' meeting due to prior commitments and reaffirmed his commitment to the party's democratic principles.
