Labour Party Elects New Leadership in Abia State

The Labour Party has undergone a leadership change with the election of Nenadi Esther Usman as the new national chairman during the party's national convention held on Tuesday in Umuahia, Abia State. Usman previously served as the chairman of the caretaker committee.

Additionally, Hon. Acho Obioma, a former member of the House of Representatives for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, has been elected as the national secretary.

Obioma is currently serving as a special adviser on political affairs to Abia State Governor Alex Otti. He replaces Senator Darlington Nwokocha, who previously held the position of secretary in the caretaker committee.

The new national working committee was formed through a consensus arrangement during the convention, with further details expected to be released later.
