Makinde Extends Curfew in 10 Oyo LGAs Until June 27

On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State approved the extension of a curfew imposed on ten local government areas (LGAs) bordering the Old Oyo National Park. The curfew will now be in effect from 4 PM to 8 AM for an initial period of 48 hours, continuing until Saturday, June 27, 2026.

This decision was communicated through a memo issued by Professor Musibau Babatunde, which outlined the affected local government areas. These include Oriire, Ikoyi, Igboho, Irepo, Kisi, Saki West, Saki East, Ago Amodu, Atisbo, Tede, Ago Itesiwaju, Otu, Iseyin, Olorunsogo, Igbeti, Atiba, and Offa Meta.

The extension of the curfew is part of ongoing security measures in the region.
