Judge Withdraws from Malami's Forfeiture Case Due to Personal Reasons

Judge John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has recused himself from presiding over two separate cases filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against former Attorney General Malami. The judge cited personal reasons for his decision to step down, emphasizing the importance of justice.

One of the cases involves a civil suit seeking the forfeiture of 57 properties allegedly linked to Malami. Another case pertains to the EFCC pursuing civil forfeiture proceedings against Malami over disputed properties connected to alleged financial misconduct during his tenure.

Justice Emeka Nwite had previously sat as a vacation judge during the Christmas judicial break. It is expected that the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court will reassign the cases to another judge.
