NDC Announces Timetable and Fees for 2027 Elections

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) issued a statement on Tuesday announcing the timetable and fees for the 2027 general elections. The sale of nomination forms will commence on May 13, 2026, and conclude on May 18, 2026.

Screening and interviews for aspirants will take place from May 19 to May 21, 2026. The assessment of candidates will determine their eligibility to purchase nomination forms, which will be available from May 21 to May 23, 2026, with completed forms due by May 25, 2026.

The screening exercise will be conducted on May 25 and 26, 2026. The primary elections for various offices are scheduled for May 27 and 28, 2026, with the presidential primary set for May 29, 2026, in Abuja.

The NDC explained that aspirants for state house assemblies and national assembly positions will undergo screening at the party's national secretariat in Abuja. The nomination form fees are set at N1 million for state house assembly aspirants, N2 million for house representatives, N3 million for senatorial aspirants, N10 million for governorship aspirants, and N20 million for presidential aspirants, with a nomination form fee of N40 million.

Women and persons with disabilities will receive discounts of 50% and 25%, respectively.
