Breaking: NEC Takes Decision on Damagum As PDP National Chairman

The NEC of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially confirmed Umar Damagum as the national chairman during its 102nd meeting in Abuja. Damagum had been serving as the acting national chairman since March 2023 after the suspension of Iyorchia Ayu, a decision that was later upheld by the court.

The confirmation was followed by a swearing-in ceremony conducted by the national legal adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade. Damagum expressed gratitude to the NWC and NEC members for their support in repositioning the party.

The PDP is now gearing up for its national elective convention scheduled for November 15-16 in Ibadan, Oyo state. Meanwhile, the APC criticized PDP governors for lacking vision and mission for the 2027 elections.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has also expressed his intention to run for the presidency in 2027.
