BREAKING: NRC Suspends Abuja-Kaduna Train Services After Derailment

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has suspended train services between Abuja and Kaduna following a derailment incident. The Managing Director of NRC, Kayode Opeifa, announced the suspension at a press briefing in Abuja, stating that the service will remain halted until the ongoing investigation confirms safety standards.

A technical team from NRC and the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) are working to determine the cause of the derailment and recommend preventive measures. Opeifa assured that the corporation has consistently complied with safety protocols and has already processed refunds for affected passengers.

Six passengers sustained minor injuries in the incident and received medical care. The NSIB has officially launched an investigation to restore safe and efficient rail service along the route.
