BREAKING: Obasanjo Presidential Library Demands N3.5bn Compensation From EFCC

The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has demanded N3.5 billion in compensation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following a raid on August 10. The Managing Director, Vitalis Ortese, stated that the raid led by EFCC operatives resulted in alleged damage to the reputation and financial standing of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the institution.

The raid, which involved armed men storming the premises during an event, led to chaos, injuries, and panic among attendees. OOPL also demanded N1 billion compensation for those arrested and injured, as well as the return of seized vehicles.

The library warned of legal action if the demands are not met within seven days. Legal evidence, including a spent bullet shell, has been presented to support their claims of indiscriminate shooting during the raid.
