Obasanjo Library Threatens Legal Action As EFCC Invades Facility, Arrests 93 Internet Fraud Suspects

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) conducted a raid at the Green Legacy Guest House within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, resulting in the arrest of 93 suspected internet fraudsters. The agency stated that the operation was based on credible intelligence about their involvement in internet crimes, leading to the recovery of 18 vehicles and mobile devices.

The management of the Obasanjo Library condemned the invasion, alleging that around 50 EFCC operatives disrupted a private event, causing panic and chaos among participants. The EFCC has been accused of violating the rights of those gathered at the event, with the library demanding an explanation and apology for the incident.

The management intends to take the matter to the highest authorities for redress and appropriate sanctions.
