Pantami Joins PDP, Wins Gombe Governorship Ticket

Isa Pantami, the immediate past Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has officially defected to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and has secured the party's governorship ticket for Gombe State in preparation for the 2027 elections. Pantami emerged victorious in the PDP governorship primary held on Tuesday, with the Gombe State PDP electoral panel declaring him the winner of the primary election as the sole aspirant.

In his acceptance, Pantami pledged to serve the people of Gombe State with fairness and justice. Prior to his defection, Pantami had rejected a consensus arrangement proposed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, indicating a significant shift in his political alignment.
