Nigeria Police Council Confirms Tunji Disu as IGP

The Nigeria Police Council has officially confirmed Tunji Disu as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP). This confirmation occurred during a meeting held on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where Disu was presented to President Bola Tinubu.

Prior to this confirmation, Tunji Disu had been appointed as the acting IGP on February 24, 2026, following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun. The transition in leadership within the Nigeria Police Force marks a significant development in the country's security apparatus, as Disu takes on the role of IGP to oversee police operations and initiatives aimed at enhancing national security.
