Renowned northern business mogul and close ally of former President Shehu Shagari, Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim, has passed away at the age of 88 in a private hospital in Abuja. Ibrahim played a crucial role in the formation of the ruling party National Party NPN during the Second Republic.

He was also known for his contributions to Nigerian sports as the founder of the Mighty Jets Football Club in the 1970s. Ibrahim was one of the first Nigerians to own a private jet, highlighting his influential status in the business world.

His nephew, Dr. Musa Ibrahim, described him as a patriotic figure.

Additionally, former national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Sir Obiora Onyeabo, also passed away at the age of 80. Onyeabo was a founding member of the PDP and served as the National Secretary in 1999.
