Tinubu Reshuffles Cabinet, Appoints New Finance Minister

On Tuesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved a minor reshuffle of his cabinet, resulting in the replacement of the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development. Wale Edun has been appointed as the new Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, while Muttaqha Darma takes over as the Minister of Housing and Urban Development from Ahmad Dangiwa.

The announcement was made by Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser to the Media and Publicity to the President, citing a memo signed by George Akume. The reshuffle is intended to strengthen coordination and improve policy delivery across critical sectors of the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The outgoing ministers were thanked for their service, and the transition process is expected to be completed by April 23, 2026. The changes were made in accordance with constitutional provisions governing ministerial appointments.
