PDP Appoints 13-Member Interim NWC Amid Leadership Crisis

Adolphus Wabara, the leader of the Board of Trustees of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), announced the appointment of a 13-member interim National Working Committee (NWC) on Monday. This decision was made in response to a recent Supreme Court judgment that upheld the nullification of the party's national convention held in Ibadan, which created a leadership vacuum within the PDP.

The decision was reached during a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) convened by factions of the party, including one led by Tanimu Turaki, at the Yar'Adua Centre. The need for an interim structure was agreed upon to stabilize the party amidst ongoing internal crises and factional struggles for control as they prepare for future political engagements.
