Adeleke Denounces Violence Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke expressed strong opposition to the imposition of emergency rule following violent incidents in Osogbo, where armed hoodlums fired gunshots, causing panic among residents. The violence, which reportedly resulted in several injuries and at least one death, occurred just before the governorship election.

Adeleke accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, of orchestrating these attacks, particularly targeting opposition figures. He condemned the actions of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola and called for the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the State Security Service to intervene.

Adeleke emphasized the need for a peaceful electoral environment, urging residents to remain calm and exercise their voting rights without fear of intimidation.
