The British High Commission has issued an advisory to Nigerians who have applied for UK student visas, urging them to monitor their email inboxes, including junk or spam folders, after submitting their applications. The UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) authority may contact applicants at any stage of the visa application process to request further documents or information necessary for progressing their applications. Ignoring or failing to notice such requests can lead to significant delays in visa decisions, as UKVI will not proceed with processing until all outstanding queries are addressed.

The advisory also applies to applicants who used third-party agents for their submissions, emphasizing the need for these agents to check the email accounts associated with the applications.
