Broadoaks Schools Launches Sports Scholarship Program

Broadoaks Schools, located in Maitama, Abuja, has announced the launch of a scholarship program dedicated to sports, with applications opening on May 16, 2026. Dr.

Jill Cowi, the head of the school, emphasized that the program aims to focus on sports development among students. Broadoaks is set to be the first school in Abuja to participate in the World School Games in Doha, Qatar, scheduled for January 2026.

The school is preparing its students for this event, with training programs already underway, supported by external experts and coaches specializing in football, athletics, and various track and field events. Dr.

Cowi mentioned that the school received an invitation to attend the next African School Games and is in discussions with Malam Shehu Dikko, the chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), to identify and groom potential athletic talent for the future. The school plans to expand its facilities and aims to provide students with exposure to international competitions.
