Buhari's Ex-Chief of Staff Debunks 'Jubril of Sudan' Imposter Theory

In a recent interview on Channel Television, Professor Gambari, the former Chief of Staff to late President Muhammadu Buhari, refuted the long-standing conspiracy theory known as the 'Jubril of Sudan' controversy. The theory suggests that the late Nigerian leader was replaced by an imposter from Sudan.

Gambari emphasized that Buhari is the same individual he has known since their time working together during the 1984 military regime and later in civilian administration. The 'Jubril of Sudan' theory gained traction on social media in 2018, falsely claiming that Buhari had been replaced by a body double during a medical trip abroad.

Despite repeated denials by President Buhari, the theory persisted. Buhari served as a military head of state from 1983 to 1985 and was democratically elected as President in 2015, serving two terms until 2023.
