Yusuf Buhari Declares Candidacy for House of Reps 2027

Yusuf Buhari, the son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, officially declared his intention to contest for a House of Representatives seat in the 2027 elections. This announcement was made in a letter dated April 3, which was purportedly signed by Yusuf and communicated to stakeholders.

He aims to represent the Sandamu/Daura/Mai Adua constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC). The decision follows extensive consultations with stakeholders, as explained by Bashir Ahmad, a former special assistant to Muhammadu Buhari.

Local stakeholders in the Sandamu area of Katsina State have shown their support for Yusuf's candidacy, indicating a preference for him as the candidate for the constituency. The APC has also announced its decision during a high-level meeting at the Sandamu local government secretariat, which included elected officials and political appointees.

The meeting reaffirmed support for President Bola Tinubu and the party's standard bearer for the governorship seat, Dikko Umar Radda, while also endorsing Nasiru Yahaya Daura for the senatorial seat.
