Build A Child Initiative Advocates Youth Education Reform

On February 16, 2026, the Build A Child Initiative, in collaboration with the Brambl Network, convened a dialogue focused on youth-driven education reform at the Bosso Campus of the Federal University of Technology Minna. The event gathered 50 participants, including students, educators, and youth advocates, to discuss the need for Nigeria's education system to evolve beyond a strictly teacher-centered approach.

Panelists included Paul Ishaya, a lecturer at Kaduna State Polytechnic, and Becki Nwokik, an education professional. Janet Isesel, Executive Director of the Build A Child Initiative, emphasized leveraging technology to create opportunities for student engagement.

The initiative also highlighted its commitment to providing direct educational support to underserved children across Nigeria, including awarding nine fully funded scholarships to pupils in Niger State as part of the BACI Scholar Program. Additionally, the initiative distributed 15 school bags to children in underserved communities in Kogi State, reinforcing the importance of inclusive education.
