Building Collapse: Gov Nwifuru, Minister, Anambra Deputy Governor Warn Against Quackery

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Musa Dangiwa, and Anambra State Deputy Governor Onyekachukwu Ibeziem have warned against quackery in the building industry following recent collapses. They attributed these incidents to unprofessional conduct and a lack of a strong regulatory framework.

Speaking at the 55th Builders General Meeting of the Nigeria Institute of Building, they called for increased advocacy to promote awareness and ensure professionalism. Governor Nwifuru urged states to domesticate regulatory frameworks to combat quackery, while Minister Dangiwa emphasized the government's commitment to restoring professionalism.

Deputy Governor Ibeziem stressed the importance of monitoring and supervision to prevent quackery and uphold building regulations. The Nigeria Institute of Building was urged to collaborate with authorities to strengthen enforcement and promote accountability in the industry.
