Bus Driver Kills Wheelbarrow Pusher in Port Harcourt

A tragic incident occurred in Port Harcourt when a bus driver struck and killed a wheelbarrow pusher on Ikwerre Road, Mile 3, in the Diobu area. The accident happened just minutes before 6:00 AM as the victim was reportedly standing by the roadside waiting for customers.

The driver, identified as Simpli, was operating a Mitsubishi commercial bus that veered off course and hit the victim. Following the incident, the injured victim was rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment.

Traffic officials from the Nkpolu police division, led by CSP Ogbuefi Henri King Udo, responded to the scene. The driver was arrested at the scene, and the vehicle was impounded and taken to the police station for further investigation.

ASP Bless Kaborlo Agab, the public relations officer of the Rivers State Command, confirmed the incident, stating that one person lost their life in the crash along Mile 3 Ikwerre Road.
