Truck Overturns in Lagos, Injures POS Operator Critically

A serious accident occurred in Lagos when a heavily loaded articulated truck overturned, injuring a female Point of Sale (POS) operator critically. The incident took place along a service lane adjacent to a police tactical team station.

Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), confirmed that the truck lost control and fell onto a commercial mini shuttle bus near a roadside shop. The injured POS operator, who was conducting business in a canopy area, suffered critical injuries to her leg and was immediately rescued and taken to a nearby medical facility attached to the police tactical team station.

LASTMA officials arrived promptly to manage traffic and coordinate rescue efforts, securing the affected corridor in collaboration with emergency response agencies. The driver of the truck was subsequently apprehended by the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.

A tow truck was deployed to evacuate the overturned truck, and preliminary investigations into the crash commenced at the Oril Iganmu police division. Despite the severity of the accident, traffic movement around the area remained largely uninterrupted due to the swift intervention of traffic management officials.
