Zamfara re-run election: PDP accuses APC of deploying security forces to intimidate voters

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of deploying security forces to intimidate voters and manipulate the outcome of the Zamfara State House Assembly re-run election in Kaura Namoda South Constituency. During a press conference, the PDP alleged that the election held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, was marred by harassment, intimidation, and voter suppression allegedly carried out by security agencies acting under the control of the APC.

The PDP presented photographic and video evidence showing instances of voter brutality and ballot box carting by heavily armed personnel. The opposition party claimed that this was part of a plot to pave the way for the APC to manipulate the election process scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The PDP warned that such actions posed a clear and present danger to Nigeria's democracy and stability, urging Nigerians and the international community to take note and hold the APC accountable for any breakdown of law and order.
