CAF Boosts Annual Subvention to $700,000 for Federations
On October 14, CAF President Patrice Motsepe announced a 33% increase in the annual subvention for its member federations, raising the amount from $525,000 to $700,000. This increase is the third since 2021, the year Motsepe assumed leadership.
Under his administration, the total subvention has risen by 250%, from $200,000. Additionally, zonal unions will now receive $900,000, up from $750,000, and the African Clubs Association will receive $500,000, an increase from $400,000.
CAF stated that this financial boost demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that football in its 54 member associations is world-class and self-sustaining. The additional funds are intended to support various projects, including human development, women and youth football, and improved administration.
CAF emphasized that the increased financial support aims to strengthen football development structures and create opportunities for players, coaches, referees, and other stakeholders.
