CAF Urges NFF to Comply with Coaching Requirements

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has issued a reminder to its member associations, including the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), regarding the mandatory coaching qualifications necessary for teams to participate in continental competitions. CAF stressed the direct application of these requirements to both men's and women's football, covering national teams and club competitions, including inter-club tournaments and the women’s Champions League.

The governing body of African football stated that coaches must meet stipulated licensing and professional qualification standards to be eligible for international assignments and to sit on the bench during matches. In its communication, CAF commended member associations for their cooperation in implementing these regulations and noted that adherence to these requirements is crucial for strengthening professional integrity across African inter-club competitions and women’s football tournaments.

CAF reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high professional standards in competitions through strict enforcement of coaching regulations across the continent.
