NFF to Appoint New Coaches for Youth National Teams

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to hold a meeting on February 17, 2026, in Abuja, where the technical committee will deliberate on the appointment of new coaches for the Golden Eaglets, Flying Eagles, and Flamingos. This decision comes after the Golden Eaglets, under coach Manu Garba, failed to qualify for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, having been eliminated in the WAFU B qualifiers.

Similarly, the Flying Eagles, led by coach Aliyu Zubairu, reached the Round of 16 in the 2025 U20 World Cup in Chile but did not meet expectations. Additionally, the Flamingos, the women's U17 team, also fell short of expectations under coach Bankol Olowoker.

The committee has previously recommended that the NFF executive committee seek new coaching leadership to guide these national teams effectively.
