Cameroon and Malawi Clash in WAFCON 2026 Final

Cameroon and Malawi are set to face off in the final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, both aiming for their first major title. Cameroon, known as the Indomitable Lionesses, reached the final after defeating Morocco on penalties following a goalless draw.

Malawi, making their tournament debut, secured their spot by overcoming Algeria 3-1 and previously defeating 10-time champions Nigeria 3-2. Michaely Bihina, a 22-year-old goalkeeper for Cameroon and a standout player, has played a crucial role in her team's success, eliminating Nigeria in the quarterfinals and saving four penalties against Morocco in the semifinals.

Bihina has not conceded a goal in over 360 minutes of play during the tournament. She expressed her excitement about facing Malawi's Chawinga sisters, who have scored nine goals combined in the tournament, and emphasized her motivation to perform well in high-stakes matches.
