Momodu Urges Tinubu to Campaign on Performance for 2027

Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), advised President Bola Tinubu to campaign for re-election in 2027 by showcasing the achievements of his administration rather than relying on political rhetoric. During an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Momodu stated that the outcome of the upcoming presidential election will depend on how Nigerians evaluate the performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He noted that while there is no personal animosity towards Tinubu, it is crucial for him to demonstrate tangible results to voters. Momodu criticized the APC for continuously blaming previous administrations for Nigeria's economic and governance challenges, despite having been in power since 2015.

He questioned what steps the Tinubu administration has taken to improve the economy, urging the government to present its scorecards. Additionally, Momodu commented on the political dynamics involving former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, suggesting Obasanjo's opposition to Atiku's presidential ambitions.
