CAN Condemns Pastor's Killing and Worshippers' Abduction

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) expressed shock and grave concern regarding the killing of a pastor and the abduction of several worshippers during an open-air crusade in Ekiti State. In a statement signed by CAN President Daniel Okoh, the association described the incident as deeply disturbing and condemned it in strong terms.

The victims were gathered peacefully for worship when they were met with violence. CAN extended condolences to the family of the slain pastor and expressed solidarity with the Christian community in Ekiti State.

The association also called for the immediate and safe release of the abducted individuals. Furthermore, CAN linked this incident to a growing pattern of attacks, citing a recent case in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, where gunmen reportedly abducted residents, including clergy families.
